Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy applies to paid JobMatch plans (currently Pro and Premium) sold by Ansa Careers ([Proprietor’s full legal name], trading as Ansa Careers, Port Harcourt, Nigeria). It is part of our Terms & Conditions and uses the same defined terms. The Free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund.
1. Who does what
Three different things can affect a refund, and it helps to keep them apart:
- Our policy (this document). It sets out when we are willing to refund, and the situations in which we will.
- Lemon Squeezy’s role. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for paid plans. It takes your payment, handles tax and invoices, and processes refunds and chargebacks. Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy, so the money comes back to you from Lemon Squeezy, not from us directly. Its Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. Lemon Squeezy says that sellers may set their own refund policies, and that it reserves the right to issue refunds within 60 days of purchase, at its own discretion, to prevent chargebacks. That is a right of the platform, not a promise to you. It does not replace this policy or give you a guaranteed entitlement.
- Your legal rights. Depending on where you live, the law may give you rights to cancel or to a remedy that a policy cannot reduce. See section 7.
2. Cancelling your subscription
- How: open your account’s billing settings and choose “Manage billing”, which opens Lemon Squeezy’s customer portal. Or email support@ansacareers.com and we will help.
- Timing: paid plans renew monthly until you cancel, so please cancel before your renewal date. Lemon Squeezy’s Buyer Terms ask for cancellation at least 48 hours before the end of the current period, so cancel earlier than that to be sure the next payment is not taken.
- Effect: cancelling stops future renewals. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. You do not lose access straight away.
- Deleting your account also cancels the subscription, but it ends your access to the account immediately. Any paid time left is not refunded unless section 4 or the law says otherwise. If you want to keep that time, please cancel and use it up before you delete your account.
- Free trials: we do not currently offer them. If we start to, how to cancel and what happens at the end will be shown at checkout.
3. When we will refund
We will refund the charge for a paid plan (in full, or the affected part) if any of the following is true, as long as you ask us within 60 days of the charge:
- Duplicate or incorrect charge. You were charged twice for the same period, or charged an amount that is not the price shown at checkout.
- Failure to provide access. You paid but we did not give you access to the plan you bought, and we could not fix it within a reasonable time after you told us.
- Serious defect or material mismatch. The Service has a defect that substantially stops you from using the main features of your plan, or the plan is materially different from how it was described when you bought it, and we could not put it right within a reasonable time after you told us.
- Unauthorised transaction. Someone used your payment method to buy a plan without your permission. Please tell us and your bank promptly.
- We end your plan. We end your plan for a reason other than your breach, in which case we refund the unused part of the period (see section 14 of the Terms).
- Where the law requires it (see section 7).
4. When we will not refund by default
Apart from the cases in sections 3 and 7, we do not usually refund:
- a change of mind, or not using the plan, after a billing period has started;
- the unused part of a period after you cancel (you keep access until it ends);
- the unused part of a period after you delete your account;
- a renewal you did not cancel in time, unless you contacted us before the renewal charge and your cancellation was not processed because of our error;
- outcomes you hoped for but did not get, such as interviews, offers or match accuracy, because the Service does not guarantee them; and
- fees charged by third parties, such as your bank’s foreign-exchange or card charges.
We may still agree to a refund in other cases, at our discretion. We look at each request fairly and on its own facts, and we will never use these rules to deny you a legal right. We may decline a request that is part of a pattern of abuse, such as repeated refunds of plans that were used, or one that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent. If we do, we will explain why.
Allowances used. If you have used a significant part of your AI allowance in a period, the refund for that period may be partial, to reflect the service you have already received. Where the law gives you a right to cancel, any deduction is limited to what the law allows.
Promotions and discounts. A refund covers the amount you actually paid, after any discount.
Renewals. Each monthly charge is a separate purchase. Refunding one charge does not refund earlier ones.
5. How to ask for a refund
- Email support@ansacareers.com, from the address on your account if you can.
- Include the email address you used to buy, the date and amount of the charge, the Lemon Squeezy order or receipt number (from your receipt email), and a short description of the problem. Please do not send full card numbers or passwords. We do not need them.
- We will review your request and reply within 5 business days with our decision and our reasons. We may ask you one or two follow-up questions.
- If we approve it, we issue the refund through Lemon Squeezy and let you know. Lemon Squeezy pays it back to your original payment method.
- If you disagree, reply and ask us to look again. Where possible, a different person will review it. You can also contact us at the address in section 8, your card issuer or bank, or a consumer protection body in your country. We would ask you to talk to us first, because we can often fix problems faster.
6. How refunds are paid and what happens to access
- Where the money goes: back to the original payment method, through Lemon Squeezy. We cannot refund to a different card or method.
- How long it takes: a refund is approved first, and then your bank takes time to show it. Lemon Squeezy says refunds can take up to 10 days to appear on a customer’s statement, though your bank or card issuer may take a different amount of time.
- Amount: the refund is the price you paid. Lemon Squeezy may handle any tax on the refund in line with its terms and the law. Currency conversion differences are outside our control.
- Partial refunds: these are possible where this policy or the law provides for them (for example, “Allowances used” in section 4).
- Access: if we refund the current period in full, your paid plan ends and your account moves to the Free plan from the date of the refund, or at the end of any period we agree with you. We will tell you the date. A full refund of a charge does not cancel the subscription by itself unless we say it does, so if you want to stop future renewals, you need to cancel separately.
7. Chargebacks, and your statutory rights
Chargebacks. You can dispute a charge with your bank at any time. Please contact us first, because a refund is quicker and avoids fees. When a chargeback is filed, Lemon Squeezy normally deals with it and may refund the order. It may also decide to refund an order within its 60-day discretionary period even where this policy would not. If that happens, your plan may end.
This policy is not your only protection. It is a commercial policy that adds to, and never takes away from, the mandatory consumer rights where you live. Depending on where you are, these may include:
- A right to cancel (cooling-off or withdrawal). In the EU and the UK, a consumer buying online has a legal right to withdraw within 14 days. For digital content and online services, that right can be lost once the service has started with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right, or once the service has been fully provided, under the applicable rules. If you use the right, a proportionate charge for the service you have already used may apply where the law permits. Where the law needs your consent and acknowledgement, we collect it at checkout.
- Remedies for faulty or misdescribed digital content and services, such as repair, a price reduction or a refund, where the law provides.
- Rules on automatic renewals and cancellation in various countries and states, which require clear terms and a simple way to cancel.
- Any other mandatory refund, replacement or cancellation right under the law that applies to you.
Nothing in this policy limits a right that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a mandatory right gives you more than this policy does, the law applies. If you think you have such a right, tell us in your request and we will consider it in good faith.
