Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
These Terms are an agreement between you and [Proprietor’s full legal name], trading as Ansa Careers, a sole proprietorship registered in Nigeria and based in Port Harcourt (“Ansa Careers”, “we”, “us”).
They cover your use of:
- our website at https://ansacareers.com, including our career-advice articles (the “Website”);
- JobMatch, our software-as-a-service tool at https://app.ansacareers.com (the “App”); and
- the JobMatch desktop agent (the “Agent”).
Together these are the “Service”. Our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy are part of these Terms. Together, they make up the “Agreement”.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms when you tick the acceptance box and create an account, or when you first use the Service, whichever comes first. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. JobMatch is designed for individual job seekers.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract where you live.
You agree to give accurate information, keep your sign-in details confidential, tell us promptly if you notice any unauthorised use, and not share your account with anyone. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it happens because we failed to take reasonable security measures. Each account is for one person. You can sign in with email and password or through a supported sign-in provider.
4. The Service
JobMatch helps you search supported job boards and applicant tracking systems, compare job postings against resumes you provide, generate AI-assisted match scores, cover letters and tailored resumes, and track your applications. The Agent runs on your computer and finds jobs for you using your own connection.
Plans. We offer a Free plan and paid plans (currently Pro and Premium). The features and monthly AI allowance for each plan are shown on our pricing page and in the App. Where a plan is described as “unlimited”, the fair-use rule in section 5 applies.
Technical requirements. You need a modern web browser and an internet connection. The Agent is available for the versions of Windows, macOS and Linux shown on the download page. You are responsible for your own equipment and connection.
Availability and changes. We work to keep the Service running, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may carry out maintenance, and we may update, improve, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will give you reasonable notice, and your rights under section 8 and the Refund and Cancellation Policy still apply.
Third-party sources. Job postings come from third-party job boards and systems that we do not control. They may be inaccurate, out of date, duplicated or unavailable, and a job board may limit access. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any job board. Their names and logos belong to their owners.
5. AI features, match scores and acceptable use
AI output is a suggestion. Match scores, keyword suggestions, cover letters and tailored resumes are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable. Please review everything before you use it. You are responsible for what you put in any application you submit, including whether it is accurate and truthful. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, pay or any hiring outcome, and an employer’s decisions are their own.
Allowances and fair use. AI features draw on a monthly allowance that depends on your plan. It resets at the start of each billing period (or monthly on the Free plan). We may limit use that is automated, abusive or far outside normal individual use, and we will tell you if we do.
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights through your use of the Service;
- give false identity information or pretend to be someone else;
- upload other people’s personal data that you have no right to use;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or probe, scan or test their security without our written permission;
- interfere with or overload the Service, or get around rate limits, plan limits, bot checks or other access controls;
- resell, sublicense or share the Service or its outputs as a competing service, or use the Service to build a competing product;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the App or the Agent, except to the extent the law gives you that right regardless of this restriction;
- use the Agent or the Service to break the terms of any job board or website you search (you are responsible for checking and following those terms); or
- introduce malware or use the Service to send spam.
6. Your content and our licence to it
Ownership. You keep all rights in the resumes, notes and other material you submit (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of it.
Licence to us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy and process Your Content, and to send it to our service providers (including our AI provider). We use this licence only as needed to run, secure and provide the Service to you, and as described in our Privacy Policy. It ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies in backups, which are deleted in the ordinary course, and copies we must keep by law. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models.
Your promises. You confirm that you have the right to submit Your Content and that, as far as you know, it does not break any law or infringe any third-party right.
Output. As between you and us, you may use the outputs generated for you in your own job applications. AI outputs can resemble outputs generated for other people, so we cannot promise that yours are unique.
Privacy of your content. The Service does not publish Your Content to other users, and there is no public user-posted content on the Service. If you believe content on our Website infringes your rights, email support@ansacareers.com with details and we will look into it.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions, you allow us to use them freely and without payment.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. That includes the App, the Agent, the software, design, text, graphics, articles, trademarks and logos (but not third-party marks or Your Content). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App and the Agent for your own job search, and to read and share links to our articles for personal, non-commercial purposes, in each case subject to these Terms. You may not copy or republish our articles or materials commercially without our written permission. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
8. Paid plans, payment and renewal
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC) sells paid plans to you, as merchant of record, through its checkout. It takes payment, calculates and collects applicable sales taxes (such as VAT or sales tax), issues receipts and invoices, and handles payment disputes. Your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy’s Buyer Terms, which govern the payment transaction. We, not Lemon Squeezy, provide the Service and are responsible for it. Lemon Squeezy is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service’s features or availability. If these Terms and the Buyer Terms conflict on payment, billing or the purchase transaction, the Buyer Terms win on that point. On everything else about the Service, these Terms win.
Prices and currency. The price, billing period and currency are shown at checkout before you pay. Depending on where you are, prices may be shown with or without tax. The final amount, including any tax, is shown at checkout.
Automatic renewal. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. They renew automatically for successive one-month periods at the current price until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise Lemon Squeezy to charge your payment method at the start of each period. We do not currently offer free trials. If we start to, the trial length, the price after the trial and how to cancel will be shown clearly at checkout.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before it applies to your next renewal. Lemon Squeezy may also notify you and, where the law requires, ask for your consent. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Changing plan. You can change plans from the billing settings. An upgrade may be charged immediately by Lemon Squeezy. A change to the Free plan takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy may try again. While a payment is overdue, your account may be limited to the Free plan’s features and allowance until the payment goes through or the subscription ends. You remain responsible for amounts that are properly due.
Billing disputes. If you think you were charged incorrectly, please contact us at support@ansacareers.com first so we can help quickly. This does not affect any right you have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank.
9. Cancellation and refunds
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account’s billing settings (“Manage billing”), which takes you to Lemon Squeezy’s customer portal, or by contacting us at support@ansacareers.com. Lemon Squeezy’s Buyer Terms ask that you request cancellation at least 48 hours before the end of the current period, so please cancel earlier than that to be sure your next renewal is not charged. This does not limit any mandatory right you have.
When it takes effect. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the Free plan. Cancelling does not by itself entitle you to a refund for a period already charged.
Deleting your account. Deleting your account cancels the subscription, but you lose access to the account immediately. Any remaining paid time is not refunded unless the Refund and Cancellation Policy or the law says otherwise.
Refunds. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains when refunds are available, how to ask for one and how Lemon Squeezy’s role affects the process. It applies together with these Terms and does not limit rights you cannot lawfully give up.
Your statutory rights. Depending on where you live, you may have a mandatory right to cancel a purchase within a set period (for example, the right of withdrawal under EU or UK consumer law), or other mandatory remedies. Nothing in these Terms removes those rights. Where the law lets us ask for your express consent to start the service immediately, and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided, we will ask for it at checkout.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on and links to third-party services, including job boards, Lemon Squeezy, sign-in providers and AI services. We do not control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for their content or practices. We do remain responsible for our own services and for anything the law does not let us disclaim.
11. Disclaimers
The articles on our Website are general career information. They are not professional career, legal or financial advice. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law permits, we give no warranties beyond those set out in these Terms. That includes any promise that the Service will meet your particular needs, that outputs will be accurate, or that third-party job data will be correct or available. We do promise to provide the Service with reasonable care and skill.
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that a contract cannot exclude or limit, and nothing in these Terms affects them. These include any right to have digital content and services be as described and of satisfactory quality, and to a remedy if they are not.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, opportunity, reputation or data (except where we are at fault for losing data you stored with us), or for any employment or hiring outcome; and
- our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim and (b) US$100.
13. Your responsibility for losses you cause
To the extent the law allows, you will compensate us for losses, damages and reasonable costs we suffer as a result of a third-party claim arising from Your Content or from your breach of section 5 or section 6. This does not apply where the law does not allow it for consumers. We will tell you promptly of any claim and let you take part in handling it.
14. Suspension and termination
By you. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Section 9 explains how to cancel a paid plan.
By us. We may suspend or end your access if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, if you do not pay amounts that are properly due, if the law requires us to, or if your use puts the security or integrity of the Service at risk or harms others. Where it is practical and lawful, we will give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first, unless the risk is urgent. We may also end the Service or your account for any other reason on at least 30 days’ notice.
Effect. If we end your paid plan for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for (through Lemon Squeezy). When access ends, your licence to the App and the Agent ends too, and you should uninstall the Agent. You can export your data from the App before closing your account. We will then delete or anonymise your data as described in the Privacy Policy, except where we must keep it by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16) continue after termination.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy. The Service sends the resume and job content you choose to process to our AI provider so that the AI features can work, as the Privacy Policy describes.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or from the Service, are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@ansacareers.com so we can try to sort it out informally within 30 days. If we cannot, the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria have jurisdiction, except that:
- if you are a consumer, you also keep any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country and to rely on that country’s mandatory consumer-protection laws; and
- either of us may ask a court for urgent relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
This section does not apply to your separate purchase contract with Lemon Squeezy, which is governed by its Buyer Terms.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service, our providers or the law. We will post the new version here with a new date. For material changes, we will tell registered users by email or in the App at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and cancel before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms to the extent the law permits. Changes do not apply to a dispute that began before the change.
18. General
- Entire agreement. The Agreement is the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. It replaces any earlier understanding on the same subject.
- Severability. If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies, and we will replace the unenforceable part with a valid one that comes closest to its intent.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right, that does not mean we have given it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under the Agreement without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor to the business, and we will tell you if your rights would be adversely affected.
- Events beyond our control. Neither of us is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as outages of internet, hosting, payment or other third-party services, power failure, natural disaster, war or government action. This does not excuse a payment obligation that has already arisen.
- Notices. We will give you notices by email to the address on your account, or by posting in the App or on the Website. You can give notice to us at support@ansacareers.com.
- No third-party rights. Apart from Lemon Squeezy, for the provisions that name it, no one other than you and us can enforce the Agreement.
- Language. The Agreement is in English. If we provide a translation, the English version prevails to the extent the law permits.
